| Welcome to
CLC Philippines website.
The Christian Life Community (CLC) is a worldwide
association of Christian men and women, adult and youth from all
social conditions. As an Ignatian lay community and inspired by
Mary our Mother, we see our mission in the light of our particular
vocation. The CLC in the Philippines is imbued with a sense of the
Church, and sees its mission in creatively, freely and joyfully
participating in the transformation of the Philippines towards a
just and humane society. |
 |
Our Spirituality
Our spirituality is centered on Christ and we draw strength and inspiration from the Spiritual
Exercises of St. Ignatius (SpEx).With the help of Faith Group Guides provided by CLCP, we live
out the Ignatian spirituality in a lay community through daily personal prayer based on Sacred
Scripture, discernment through daily review of one's life, regular spiritual direction, active
participation in the Eucharist, an active sacramental life and a love for the Mother of God.

Our Community Life
We come together on a regular basis to celebrate community life.
We relate to each other with trust and openness, respecting the uniqueness of individuals and supporting one another
in mission. Our community life assures a deep sharing by members of our faith and human life. |
|
Our Apostolic Life
Our ordinary way of discovering how best to bring Christ's presence
to our world is through apostolic discernment, that is both individual and communal.
We respond to the call of Christ from within the world
in which we live. Our lay identity and our mission lie
in the Church and the world, in order to bring the gospel of salvation to all people
and to serve individual persons and society. We render preferential
service to the poor, opt to live a simple lifestyle and celebrate
family life. |
|
We trace our beginnings from
the Marian Congregations (Sodalities of our Lady), which
was started by Fr. Jean Leunis, S.J. and officially approved
by Pope Gregory XIII in 1584. In 1968, the decision to change
the name of the Sodalities to Christian Life Communities
(CLC) was an expression of solidarity with the renewal in
the Church.
CLC is currently present in 58 countries worldwide. In the
Philippines, CLC has more than a thousand members and have
formed numerous communities in the following cities and
provinces: Baguio City, Batangas City, Bicol, Bulacan, Cagayan
de Oro City, Cebu City, Davao City, Laguna, Metro Manila
(National Capital Region) and Zamboanga City.
